Custom One-Sheet JAWS movie Poster

Published on: 30th November, 2009

Here is a much darker take on the iconic poster for Steven Spielberg’s classic suspense thriller Jaws. Created by DaMovieMan in hopes of catching the attention of the “poster design community,” the dirty look gives the poster a much creepier vibe!
Instead of the belly of the shark and the normal blue tint of the water, [...]

Nintendo Sells 1.5 Million in Hardware During Thanksgiving Week

Published on: 30th November, 2009

Wii

Official NPD figures for November are still a few weeks away, but already Nintendo is sending out word that they had stellar sales last week. For the period between November 22 and November 28, the company estimates 550,000 Wii consoles were sold, alongside over 1 million DS systems. The company also states that these numbers break the record for handheld hardware sales set by the Game Boy Advance during the same period in 2002.

This is a nice increase for DS units from last year’s Thanksgiving week sales period, but Kotaku notes it’s a sizable decrease in Wii sales. This is despite aggressive marketing efforts including a price drop. Still, Nintendo has been claiming the drop has increased sales even before these holiday numbers came in. If weekly sales have been up 85% throughout November, and another 550,000 units for last week alone, the DS and Wii will probably take the first and second spots, respectively, in NPD hardware sales when they’re released.

We gave Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter a B in our review, and it’s currently available on Steam. Look for it in early 2010.
